The victims have been traditionally considered the price demanded by the march of history. But from the horror of two world wars they have achieved social visibility and have come to occupy a political, controversial but unquestionably space. The testimony of the survivors of the Jewish genocide, the suffering of populations in the peripheries of the world, the reformulation of the social question, terrorism and, most recently, road victims are phenomena that allow examine the mechanisms of victimization. From them it is possible to establish new ethical and political imperatives facing the instrumental logic that presided over the usual way in which societies have treated the victims.
Throughout this logic that degrades victimization that what applies to mere substrate, provided for an end to mere material domination and annihilation is hidden. Many forms of victimization are based and justified as a means to achieve social, political or economic objectives actually end absolutising pure instrumentality. A future reconciled, if it be possible, can only be done by breaking the instrumental logic behind victimization. This forces you to think justice from a memory of the victims to the rescue of a second death, that of being seen as "necessary price".
