The pedagogical qualities of this book are combined with the merit of exposing with clarity and scientific rigor the Marxist theory of history and the merit of presenting the thesis of classical thinkers in a concise and accessible way to the student.

This new edition presents several modifications in relation to the previous ones:

First, conceptual definitions are the culmination of the pedagogical exposition, not the starting point.

Second: It is intended to provide a theoretical instrument that allows the critical and creative study of Marxism itself. The intention is not to replace the study of the classics but to motivate an anti-dogmatic reading of their theoretical and political texts.

Third: A completely different type of questionnaire has been developed, much more in line with the objective sought.

Fourth: The chapter on state has been completely reworked and a long chapter on the problem of transition has been added, considering that the development of this theme helps to better understand what Marx's contribution in relation to the science of History and how this science must be applied creatively in the analysis of concrete situations.
