This book offers the reader the comparative translation, in a bilingual edition, of the three main texts, up to now available, of which for centuries it has been known as Tao Te ching: the copy of Guodian, the oldest (14th century) ), the two of Mawangdui (century -II) and the version of Wang Bi (third century). This new edition presents substantive novelties with respect to the previous ones. The Chinese text of Wang Bi's version has been added and Guodian's text has been thoroughly reworked, adjusting it as much as possible to the original. Although the most outstanding are the numerous modifications that the translation has been subject to. Some of them, of great importance, are based on a kind of hidden key that the author has thought to glimpse from the re-readings of the Tao Te ching during the last twelve years.
