This critical environmental culture manual is conceived as a text that stimulates the understanding of environmental problems in general, which perceives the severity of the most pressing threats that come from them to be derived and invite to adopt a socially active, founded and critical position. The author, who belongs to the first generation of "political ecologists", wanted to reflect in this text his experience and conclusions of him in relation to the essential knowledge that a concerned and cult citizen has to exhibit to face the expansive and disturbing crisis Ecological
It is, thus, in its ten chapters, the great areas on which it is necessary to stop and reflect: from the foundations and the development of life on the planet and the basic challenges to which it faces (galloping demography, pollution ubiquitous, shortage of natural resources, historical hostility towards nature) until the consideration, urgent and alarmed, of the great threats (climatic and viral, in particular) that become abate on the planet and our societies.
