De Petronio (writer), Carmen Codoñer Merino (translator)
A vision of Nero's period society through the story of an adventurer. The movements of the narrator, who passes from one place to another in Italy, accompanied by different characters, allows the reader to contact different environments, almost always related to marginal social strata. Especially striking is the so-called "Trimaltion Dinner", a large fragment where an enriched freedman and the people of his circle are portrayed.
