Straddling theory and fiction, speculative fiction, audiovisual research, and dramaturgy, Teatro della Terra Alienata stages a fictional scenario of territorial secession. It addresses the urgency highlighted by the 2018 UN IPCC report, which identified the decline of the Great Barrier Reef as part of a perverse problem demanding radical political action, along with new imaginaries and aesthetics. It proposes the reappropriation, expansion, and interconnection of existing ecological monitoring and management technologies integrated into the reef's life cycles. Inspired by the Xenofeminist Manifesto, these technologies become the poetic arsenal of a rational and universalist emancipation project, "one that transcends race, ability, economic status, and geographical position."
