Book that recovers the artistic production of Teresa Velázquez for more than four decades. It addresses the gestation process of his pictorial vocation and its formation. Likewise, it makes visible an intellectual and plastic construction process, for the understanding of some of the enormous challenges that await the artist in the new millennium; in particular, the situation of having conceived painting in Mexico in the last decade of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st.

During the 2017 earthquake, an important part of the artist's work was lost when the enclosure where it was sheltered collapsed. So the images in this publication are now unique witnesses, survivors of the tragedy.

The text of the art historian and editor of this monograph, Luis Martín Lozano, is joined by the voices of the writer Marina Azahua and the art critic Carlos Palacios, to approach Velázquez's work from a multiple and interdisciplinary perspective. The book seeks to make the reader aware of the challenges facing young creators in the new millennium and the importance of basing the praxis of art on theory and a conceptual apparatus. And thus affirm the ethics of her field of action as an artist, within a global world with profound civilizational changes and new technologies.
