Since the negotiations on the European constitutional treaty, the question of European identity has not stopped being debated. What is Europe? If we focus on linguistic diversity, we could say that it is a mosaic, although, on the other hand, its common features are immediately recognizable: a perfectly identifiable cultural heritage, which is present even in very distant territories, from Cape Town to Buenos Aires. Aires, and a group whose interior and exterior borders are in continuous movement. In this way, the continental depths, to the heart of Russia and the Ottoman Empire, can be included in the common European home, or the Atlantic dimension can be privileged, which brings Europe closer to its American brothers.
