MULTITUDES AND PARTY addresses a major issue: the problem of organization in politics. Take as a starting point the cycle of mass demonstrations that began in 2011 in various parts of the globe (Arab Spring, Syntagma, 15M, Occupy ...) to show the limits of the organizational models developed in the last fighting cycles of the 20th century . His proposal is controversial: let's think again about the Party. However, like other thinkers, after the provocation comes a sensible defense of the importance of generating consistent solidarity that will last over time.
It might seem that retaking the figure of the Communist Party as a model was certainly something extemporaneous, linked to old nostalgia or some kind of dislocation with respect to the present postmodern. It's been a while since the subjects and structures on the left have shown their scalability limits. However, what we have between
hands is a text that tries to analyze in subjective, impulsive and political terms how political aggregation works, how stable organizational ties are created that allow accumulation, that allow to leave the isolation of segmented struggles and open the horizon to a global political change. That, and not another, is the value of the exercise of thinking about the Party.
