Carlos Monsiváis, one of the most important and recognized Mexican authors of the 20th century, published the column Por mi madre, bohemios, one of the most famous in the Mexican press, for more than four decades. During the seventies of the last century, Monsivais accompanied this column with a section that was just as hilarious as, or more hilarious, Doctor Illustration's office, where hypothetical readers belonging to the Mexican cultural sphere wrote letters under pseudonyms such as "Genuinely Dismayed," "Free and Grateful” or “The scientific palpitation of the blood”.
