This first volume of Narrativa by the father of modern German literature contains his novels and narrative prose texts. It includes The Sorrows of Young Werther and Conversations of German Emigrants (translated by Marisa Siguan and Eduardo Aznar); The Apprenticeship Years of Wilhelm Meister and The Travelling Years of Wilhelm Meister (translated by Miguel Salmerón); and Elective Affinities (translated by Helena Cortés). All the volumes of the BLU have a literary editor, a role that has been played by Professor Marisa Siguan, from the Department of Germanic Philology at the University of Barcelona. Professor Siguan is the author of the introduction and notes to the text.
