While we all followed the rhythms of North American academia, becoming queer when we needed to be queer, talking about performativity and changing the word "sex" to "gender" when we needed to change the word "sex" to "gender," María Galindo, oblivious to academic trends, imagined as a reference a feminism that didn't yet exist, and in doing so, invented 21st-century feminism.
