Carla Lonzi

Carla Lonzi

Carla Lonzi (1931-1982), began her professional career as an art critic, a discipline from which she gradually moved away to fully devote herself to the feminist movement. Theorist of difference feminism and the practice of self-awareness, she was one of the main cheerleaders of the Rivolta Femminile collective, founded in Rome in 1970, and considered one of the main promoters of Italian feminism. We Spit on Hegel was first published in Argentina in 1975 and later in Spain with another translation. She is considered a classic of feminist criticism from the 1970s. The selection gathered in this volume also includes some of Rivolta Femminile's collective writings.
