Cristina Henríquez, of a Panamanian father, was born in the United States. She lives in Chicago. She has written "Fall apart: A Novella and Stories", "The World In Half" and "The Book of Unknown Americans", which she now publishes in Spanish by Malpaso. She is included in "Fiction's New Luminaries," a prestigious selection of authors by the Virginia Quarterly Review. Some of her stories have been published in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Glimmer Train, The American Scholar, Ploughshares, TriQuarterly, and in the anthology "This is Not Chick Lit: Original Stories by America's Best Women Writers."
