Edmund Husserl

Edmund Husserl (1859-1938) is one of the leading figures of contemporary German thought. Founder of phenomenology, his enormous influence on twentieth-century philosophy extends from Heidegger to Derrida, to Sartre and Lacan, among others. In recent decades there has been a rediscovery and appreciation of the contributions of his theories to the fields of cognitive science, psychology and neuroscience.
