Gonzalo Puente Ojea (1925) is the author of numerous books on religion, including most notably Ideology and History. The formation of Christianity as an ideological phenomenon (1974), Ideology and History. The stoic phenomenon in ancient society (1974), In Praise of Atheism (1995), Atheism and religion. Reflections on a debate (1997), The myth of the soul. Science and Religion (2000) and The Christ myth: evidence of falsity (2000), all published by Editorial Siglo XXI. Ojea Bridge was a diplomat and ambassador to Spain in the Vatican between 1985 and 1987, journey described in his book My embassy to the Holy See. Texts and Documents, 1985-1987 (Seal, 2002)
