José Luis de Hinojosa y Fernández de Angulo (Madrid, 1949) defines himself as a writer «of late vocation». Being very young he joined the family business (Grupo Cortefiel), combining work with studies. There he developed his entire professional life until, in 1997, he made the decision to leave the executive functions, although he remained as a director until the subsequent sale of said group in 2005.
He published his first novel, In the Following Days, when he was 62 years old and more than four editions were sold in less than a year. Later he has written two other novels, The breath of the souls that has three editions and his new novel The tears of the water published by Machado Books and which will hit bookstores on October 8. We talked with him about life, routine, loneliness, ambition and those tears of water.
