Judith Thurman was born in New York, he graduated from Brandeis University (Massachusetts) and has lived in Rome and in London a few years. Has he written several biographies, the first one, Isak Dinesen, The Life of a Storyteller (1982), won the National Book Award for Biography in 1983 On this work the film Out of Africa (1985) was based, in which she worked as an associate producer. He has devoted himself to the translation, poetry and literary criticism, and lives in Manhattan.
