Maria Guadalupe Garcia Casanova

María Guadalupe García Casanova holds a PhD in Pedagogy from the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters (FFyL) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and is a Full-Time Associate Professor "C" at the FFyL, UNAM, affiliated with the College of Pedagogy.

She was the coordinator of the "University Pedagogy Seminar" at the FFyL, UNAM.

She teaches the following courses: "History of Education and Pedagogy" and "Philosophy of Education" at the College of Pedagogy, FFyL, UNAM.

Tutor in the Postgraduate Program in Pedagogy, teaching the seminar “Educational Theories: Classical Texts” since 2005. Professor at the Center for Research and Teaching in the Humanities of the State of Morelos (CIDHEM), teaching the “Seminar on Classical and Contemporary Texts of Pedagogy” in the Postgraduate Program in Higher Education since 2005.

Under her supervision, 11 undergraduate theses, 12 master's theses, and 8 doctoral dissertations have been completed. She has also participated in 15 thesis committees for Master's programs in Pedagogy and MADEMS (Spanish, Biology, Political Science, and Classical Studies) and 8 doctoral dissertations in Pedagogy. She has served as an examiner in over one hundred undergraduate dissertations, 39 master's dissertations, and 44 doctoral dissertations.

Her research interests include: Philosophy and History of Education, Research Methodology, and Didactics of the Disciplines.

She has been co-investigator on four research projects funded through agreements between the SEP (Mexican Ministry of Education) and UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico): Analysis of Basic Education Materials for the subjects of Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Exploration of Nature and Society, Geography, and History (2008, 2009, and 2010-2011).
