Marosa di Giorgio was born in Salto, Uruguay, and was, as noted Ángel Rama, one of the greatest voices of Latin lyric and narrative.

His extensive poetic work is compiled in Wild papers, real work in progress whose latest book, Clementina Diamelas Medici (2000), is an extensive river-poem inspired by the death of his mother.
In narrative has published erotic -texts Missals (1993), translated into French by Editorial Arcane and recently reissued in Chile and Colombia; Trail of erotic -relatos jewels (1997), and Queen Amelia (1999) novel, published by Adriana Hidalgo editor. His poems and stories have been translated into English, French, Portuguese and Italian.
di Giorgio received a Fullbright Scholarship, as well as numerous awards, including, in 2001, the First Prize of the International Poetry Festival of Medellin.
