Mike McCormack (London, 1965) grew up on an Irish farm and graduated in English and Philosophy from the University of Galway. In 1996 he published his first book of short stories, Getting It in the Head, which won him the Rooney Award for Irish Literature. His first novel, Notes from a Coma, was shortlisted for the Irish Book of the Year Award in 2006. Sun Bones, originally published in 2018, received the Goldsmiths Prize, the Irish Book of the Year Award and the International Dublin Literary Award, and was nominated for the Booker Prize.
