Rafael Mandressi Montevideo, 1966. Doctor in Philosophy by the University of Paris VIII, historian and writer. Since 2003 he has been living in Paris, where he is a researcher at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), deputy director of the Alexandre-Koyré Center for History of Science and teacher at the School of Higher Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS). In Uruguay, he has been teaching at the Universidad de la República, Universidad Católica and CLAEH. He is the author of books and academic articles on subjects of his specialty. He has also been an actor, theater director and playwright. His novel Siempre París won the Juan Carlos Onetti Award in 2013. He has collaborated with En Perspectiva since 1995.
