Mardulce is an Argentine publishing house based in Buenos Aires. We publish fiction and essay books for an audience that values ​​quality literature and the debate of ideas. We have a strong presence in the rest of Latin America, in charge of important local distributors. We are also present in Spain, where we prepare a printed editorial plan with a very good distribution.

In our catalog, Spanish-language authors - Argentines, from the rest of Latin America and Spaniards - coexist with other translators, representing around 40% of our production. We have published translations from French, Portuguese, English, German, Russian, Italian and Arabic. Hopefully in the future they will be of many more languages. At the same time, several of our authors have been translated into French, Italian, English, Portuguese, Swedish, Dutch, Russian, and Hebrew. Hopefully in the future they will be in many other languages.

We organize our catalog based on a critical reflection about the status of the contemporary. We like to assume that a first novel can dialogue and interrogate - and be interrogated - texts from the late 19th or early 20th centuries. We publish first, second, third novels of young authors (we have the utopia to accompany the development of the work of our writers) together with books of already established authors - Argentines and foreigners - who do us the honor of publishing with us, next to texts from decades ago that when reread in this context take on a new value.

We have four collections. Fiction, which publishes novels and stories. Essay, focused on literary essay and aesthetic theory. Philos, which revolves around the philosophical essay. And Time, sociological intervention texts. We participate in several fairs: we have a stand at the Book Fair of Buenos Aires, in the main ones in the interior of Argentina, in Santiago de Chile, and in Guadalajara in Mexico, in all associated with other important independent publishing colleagues and friends. In addition, we usually organize roundtable discussions on literary and cultural issues, and edit Sample Books, a paper and digital magazine about the news of the independent edition.
