Contemporary studies on socio-political processes do not advance in unique ways. Today there are so many approaches, that just thinking about a single epistemic approach makes the most conservative and advocate of closed models of interpretation smile. When theoretical or methodological homogeneity is often appealed to, the results can lead, at best, to forceps that build the creative capacity of those who propose a different perspective. On the other hand, conducting social research in some geography of Latin America, carries the risk of producing only soundboards or translators of proposals, ideas and methodologies that have been generated outside our own places of etion, disconnected from the experiences and visions of the world around us.
