The history of the Hebrew story in the Middle Ages starts from the moment when it gains an independent position in the field of literature and reaches the category of literary work. The Hebrew narrative of the previous period was an integral part of the vast Talmudic-Midrashic literature without its own characteristics; Until the eighth century the story was just one of the many elements that were scattered in this literature, at the service of the interests of the Talmudic scholars to illustrate their explanations and convey them in a more entertaining way to the people.
