"Looking and thinking are two different things," says Antonio Cabrera in this book. But one has the impression that all his work, the one he has written in prose (The Unnoticed) and the one he has written in verse (In the perpetual station, Earth in heaven, Stones in the water, Birch bark) is an attempt to unite both actions.

Antonio Cabrera runs through these pages, born without haste or need, by time (the year of the earth, the minute of light), as if it were a place; he looks at it as if it were a landscape. Thus, space and time, the two coordinates of human life, acquire a new dimension, encompassable only by the poet's gaze or the philosopher's speech, now returned to the reader with a luminous and firm language.

Cabrera tells us about simple things, things often seen or felt (seeing swifts fly, hanging a painting, looking for asparagus or putting on the washing machine), and not only renews them before our eyes but also gives them a different dimension. His words are relevant to us because they speak to parts of our lives to which we have never given a fraction of a thought.
