This book is about what the work does to the psychoanalyst and vice versa. Let us leave aside, so as not to stray, the point of view of that morality that organizes human relations or is elaborated by social experience: the work of the psychoanalyst has nothing to do with that of the sociologist. Let us content ourselves with a technical reflection: the main question is to situate the place of knowledge and action, in the cure. This is located on the side of the patients, as long as they are offered a place where it is possible to display their narratives, to be able to listen to some of those thousands of threads that keep them immobilized in places that have become unsustainable, for each one.
One way to unravel the main anxiety or depression disorders, during the interviews of "suffering at work", as throughout a treatment, is to allow the patient to reposition the unhappiness that he brings, in his experience within the relations of production. , to examine the different beliefs that have marked his journey.

Hence, the author asks herself these questions: What could the practice of psychoanalysis be like if psychoanalysts took into account the effects of work, both in the course of treating their patients and in the conditions of their own activity? What would the world be like if we considered the misfortunes that affect us, hurt us and sometimes kill us, as inherent to the relations of production of services and goods? What care techniques and what kind of public health organization would result from this new vision?
