The great intellectual adventure of Surrealism grouped, in the first years of the twentieth century and in the not always protective shade of the Dada movement, a small literary group that would soon end the gestures and attitudes of the vanguard avant-garde. He contaminated and made painting, sculpture, cinema and painting his own, and only music seems to have been outside his influence. He intervened in politics with the forcefulness of a left without ties, outside the ladder and consensus, uniting Marx and Rimbaud in a phrase that has made fortune: "Triple and indivisible objective: transform the world, change life, remake from above to down human thought ». In spite of themselves who always considered themselves outside the established order, literature was their field of action and in many cases their battlefield. André Breton, Paul Éluard, Benjamin Péret, René Crevel, Antonin Artaud, Louis Aragon and Tristan Tzara are part of French literature of the twentieth century. It captures an important part of the hectic history of Surrealism and the attitude of the Surrealists about the problems of their time.
