About twelve thousand years ago the Agricultural Revolution took place by which groups of hominids became the human species to which we belong. In this very short period of time this species has colonized the Earth and has become the only one who can decide on its fate: in a few seconds it can suppress the species using the atomic arsenal or, facing more serious ethical problems if possible, modify the species and also human through genetic engineering; With artificial intelligence and robotics, with quantum mechanics, it has transformed the behavior of individuals and society by building the world of artifacts (material, symbolic and conceptual) in which we live and in which we must already distinguish between human and cybernetic person.
This brief history proposes a journey through the different scientific and technical revolutions that have led, in increasingly accelerated succession since the seventeenth century, to the domain of energies such as electricity, thermodynamics or electronics, with social, political and economic changes rigged. Starting from the questions "where are we and how did we get here", the reader is invited to imagine a future and, above all, to think about what the position of man in the cosmos may be at the present time.
