Violence is a theme that contemporary art addresses on numerous occasions and with different language and modalities. There is nothing special about it, it is a feature of contemporary society, a scourge of the world we call modern. Artistic manifestations move in a horizon that some will describe as ambiguous: they denounce violence, but they also aestheticize it and turn it into a spectacle. Many times it is difficult to clearly establish the limits between denunciation and aestheticization.
