Marcos Aurelio Saquet has a degree, master's degree and doctorate in geography, all degrees obtained in Brazil. He has a sandwich PhD at the Universitá Ca´Foscari Venezia and a postdoc at the Plitecnico di Torino, Italy. He has been a visiting professor at different universities in Italy, Colombia and Mexico. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná, where he teaches courses in the bachelor's degree in geography and in the master's and doctorate degrees in Sustainable Rural Development. He is a researcher at the National Council of Scientific and Technological Development of Brazil and coordinator of the Territorial Studies Group where, since 2002, he works on research and cooperation projects with farmers and citizens.
