In this work, Peter Hünermann proposes a new way to understand the dogmatic: not as something fixed, established and ever since, but as "linguistic event of the faith." Hünermann's proposal, far from promoting a relativizing historicization of faith shows how it, as the expression of the covenant with God, has taken various forms and their language has changed according to time. A Hünermann say, theology, dogmatic theology, especially the systematic core, is the science about God in time and history, and can be done only within a process of change and progress, as this is not directed only at past, not a science archivist, but carries in itself a creative hermeneutic reference to the present and future. This approach gives a new discipline of dogmatics, which is presented here as the axis that articulates all disciplines in both "form" of theological discourse and faith.
