Written as a flow of consciousness reminiscent of the best modern literature
̶̶̶ Virgina Woolf, Nathalie Sarraute ̶̶ crossed with a rare violence unleashed in the Argentine narrative, The weak mental is the story of an almost animal relationship between mother and daughter, of an inexhaustible sexual drive, of the biography of a body where everything is buried. Narrated through tremendous short scenes (mother and daughter in clubs, with men, with whiskey; but also playing together, having fun) the novel never becomes sordid, but on the contrary: rubs poetry, and makes a powerful interrogation about the condition human, about desire, about impossible family mandates.
