Traditionally, the preservation of inequalities between men and women has been without religion, oral account and scientific knowledge; which, being emanated from God, history and science, would become unquestionable and consequently unmoifiable. A sexist discourse was established in which women were conceived as inferior, incapable and irrational, yet they have taken a fundamental role in the postulates of classical and contemporary sociophylophilic thought, either because of their discrimination or vindication.

In this regard, is there a conception of women in the dissertations of the philosophers of suspicion Karl Marx, Friedrich Nietzsche and Sigmund Freud? How do contemporary sociologists Erving Goffman, Pierre Bourdieu and Anthony Giddens conceive of women? These are some of the elements to be elucidated, in an effort to understand gender inequities, still regarded as peripheral in the social sciences.
