Paul Watzlawick (1921 - 2007) is internationally recognized for his contributions to communication theory, the practice of brief therapy and in the areas of cybernetics applied to human interaction and constructivist theory. Pioneering studies on family therapy, systems theory and constructivist philosophy, wrote 22 books translated into over 80 languages and numerous scientific articles. Ph.D. from the University of Venice and trained at the Institute CG Jung in Zurich, was senior research fellow at the Mental Research Institute (MRI) of Palo Alto, founding member of the team from the Center of the MRI Brief Therapy and professor emeritus at Stanford University.
